Somehow a young man from the countryside in Jutland who set out to
become an engineer just like his dad, got sidetracked by a Leica and the
emerging punk scene in the back alleys of Copenhagen.
Soon the love for music, youth culture and personalities had taken over
and since then Søren Svendsen has been a passionate spectator and story
teller through the eye of the camera.

The flirt with engineering can still be traced in his on going passion for
the industrial subject, but above all Søren Svendsen is a people's man.
In fact, a real people's man. Søren Svendsen moves in the space between
reportage and conceptual photography on everyday life, but never attempt
to replace it with the empty artificial reconstruction of life.
